The Level 1 and Level 2 Certificates in OPEN COACHING SKILLS from The Open Leadership Network

The OLN awards certificates in Open Coaching. Level 1 require that you complete 5 specific OLN courses, and join a Level 1 coaching cohort as a condition of certification. Level 2 is more rigorous, requires a Level 1 certificate, and also requires significant experience to have your Level 2 application considered. The entire Path to Open Coaching certification is described below.

Achieving Level 1 requires that you successfully complete 5 specific OLN courses. Upon completing these courses, you’ll have know-how in Open patterns, Open Space, Open Space Agility, and No-Limits Self Management. You have also have an essential supporting skill: you’ll know how to effectively teach, mentor, facilitate, and coach…over remote, online video.

The Level 1 Certificate in Open Coaching

To achieve the Level 1 coaching certificate, candidates must complete the following five courses:

The Level 2 Certificate in Open Coaching

Level 1 is your entry point; Level 2 is a much more rigorous certification. It requires a Level 1 certificate, and also requires significant experience before your Level 2 application can even be considered. The successful Level 2 applicant will have the following qualifications:

  • The applicant must have a Level 1 certificate, and
  • The applicant must submit an application describing direct experience applying Open patterns and practices in a coaching context, and
  • The applicant must complete an additional 3 specific OLN courses before applying (described below), and
  • The applicant must pass a rigorous exam on Open patterns and practices

Through writing, conference speaking, and community involvement, the applicant must demonstrate professional engagement with the Open community, and also show how they are actively promoting and encouraging others to consider the Open approach.

The Agile Open Practitioner
