We hope you find our mission and vision to be one that you can support and be a part of !
About the OLN
Enterprise-wide agility is difficult to achieve. It can be enabled by the use of Open patterns of organization, Open patterns of leadership, and Open patterns of communication and interaction.
These Open patterns encourage (and then support) very high levels of engagement. This engagement is absolutely essential for success in achieving enterprise-level agility. Where engagement is weak, results are weak. Where engagement is strong, results are also strong.
Open Patterns increase clarity, enhance resilience, and expand possibilities by cultivating substantial engagement in organizational decision-making.
Our Mission: The Open Leadership Network advances the worldwide adoption of Open Patterns and Practices so that organizations, and the people in them, can thrive.
Our Vision: We envision a world where everyone can engage meaningfully in every decision that affects them.
Through our ongoing programs of community events and continuing education, we spread these ideas, by teaching eight specific Patterns of Open Business Agility™:

You can explore each of these patterns in more detail here.
You can learn about and explore our courses of education here.
Invitation-Based Change™ and Inviting Leadership™
Invitation-Based Change is a proven approach to enterprise-level change that uses an inviting style of leadership, with intent to engage as many people as possible in the change process. Inviting Leadership is an Open pattern that acknowledges that lasting change is best invited, and cannot really be imposed. Open patterns of leadership and organizing are always invitational in nature, and designed to engage as many employees as possible in the change process.
Open patterns and practices are invitational in nature. What brings everyone in the OLN together is our mutual intent to expand the understanding and use of Open Patterns and Practices, in service to greatly improving the results of agile and digital transformation efforts worldwide.
Engagement
Engagement is the missing ingredient in the “transformational change” recipe. Worldwide, the essential nature of engagement is routinely discounted and often, even ignored. Methods, frameworks and practices are offered as “transformational” solutions. But if they fail to address the issue of engagement, there is not going to be a “transformation” of anything at all. That’s because engagement is essential:
Transformations can’t be accomplished without others helping voluntarily, & people don’t help unless you engage them first.-Geoffrey Moore, world renowned management consultant and author of the books CROSSING THE CHASM and ZONE TO WIN

We offer continuing education, community, and conferences for decision-makers…and the professionals who serve them. We teach the mechanics of employee engagement. We teach the core patterns and practices of Open Business Agility™ and Invitation-Based Change™.
Our progressive courses of education in these patterns are delivered conveniently, online, and also in traditional classroom formats.
