Mark Burgess is a theoretician and practitioner in the area of information systems, whose work has focused largely on information systems and infrastructure. He is known particularly for his work on Configuration Management and Promise Theory. He was the principal Founder of CFEngine, Aljabr, and now founder at ChiTek-i. He is Emeritus Professor of Networks and Systems from Oslo University College. He is the author of numerous books, articles, and papers on topics from Physics, Computer Science, to fiction. He also writes a blog on issues of science and IT industry concerns. Today, he works as consultant and advisor on science and technology matters all over the world.
Mark is an Agile coach, certified trainer, and co-author of two books on organizational change. He focuses on explaining and then implementing invitation, opt-in, and pull when coaching Agile to executives, teams and organizations. Mark has been training, coaching, and launching Agile teams since 2013 and has over 20 years’ experience developing software solutions.
He has been delivering Open Space online using Zoom since 2017, serving about 1700 people during this time via a mix of public and private (corporate) events.

Sarah is a certified Systemic Modelling and Clean Language facilitator and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) trainer with experience of working with groups and teams in education, the health service, and in her own family-run business. Based in the Loire valley, France, for the past 20 years, the sudden shift to online work has given Sarah the opportunity to train with colleagues across the globe.
Running her own business for 19 years has given Sarah great insights into the challenges faced by employers, especially when it comes to team-building, managing conflict, juggling customer demands with ever-increasing administrative and regulatory pressures, time management, recruitment, training, and customer service. Sarah brings a great sense of fun and a steadiness to our team.
Shaun is a UKCP registered psychotherapist, an NLP Master Practitioner and a consultant, coach and facilitator. He also supervises other therapists, coaches and facilitators. He worked and travelled with David Grove in the UK and New Zealand when he was developing Clean Space and Emergent Knowledge - David was his good friend. He inherited the “Whirly Gig” and runs regular retreats and trainings.
Shaun organises the Northern Taste of Clean and he also cooks a great curry. He is married to Caitlin Walker and they have three children.
Working with Shaun is like going to an adventure playground. All of the equipment and structures are there and each one is fun and safe to play on, and there is always the experience of something new emerging.
